So I just put him on his leash, drove to a dog park and started approaching people - explaining my situation and asking if they'd take him. A nice couple was generous enough to accept and I haven't seen him since. Sad but true.

Talk about being humbled!

So what happened? I had a small technology company and I consulted as a sub contractor for some large corporations dealing specifically with the government agencies. And I was doing very well. I was paid to travel all over earth. Germany, Japan, Korea.. You name it, I've most likely been there.

It all came crashing down when I had put everything I had into a project that would get me out of the sub contracting and into the arena of landing contracts for myself. Everything was great. Awesome as a matter fact. Until I didn't get paid! All my savings went to trying to collect, paying my staff first and then what was left over went to bills. That's the domino affect. I was late on payments so I couldn't get any more credit. I couldn't pay staff so I didn't have the resources to bid on other contracts. The house went into foreclosure and in end, I lost it all.

However, the company that didn't pay me filed bankruptcy and vanished. The owners stayed around untouched and living like fat rats. I couldn't touch any of their assets.
